Description

Position Summary

Skilled Senior Reconstruction Technician. This role involves restoring residential and commercial properties damaged by fire, water, mold, and storms. The ideal candidate will have advanced skills in drywall finishing, carpentry, cabinetry, light plumbing, light electrical and flooring installation, including tile, with an advanced understanding of building materials and construction techniques. In addition to reconstruction duties, the position will assist mitigation teams in addressing water, fire, and mold damage. This position involves setting a performance standard for others to follow and leading by example on a daily basis in quality, customer service and conveying Watterson values in their daily interactions with the team. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform drywall repairs, including patching, taping, and applying all finishes.
  • Conduct carpentry and cabinetry work to restore damaged structures.
  • Execute light plumbing tasks, such as fixing leaks or replacing fixtures, as needed.
  • Execute light electrical tasks such as outlets, switches, lights, fans or other components as needed. 
  • Install and repair flooring materials, including tile, in affected areas.
  • Restore properties to pre-loss condition following fire, water, mold, or storm damage (turnkey restoration).
  • Assist mitigation technicians with water extraction, fire damage cleanup, and mold remediation efforts.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes.
  • Reachable by phone during waiting to be engaged periods, but otherwise free to use your time for personal activities unless contacted to report for duty. 
  • Operate company vehicles, as necessary.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.


Competency/Skills

  • Proven experience in drywall repair, carpentry, plumbing, and flooring installation.
  • Strong knowledge of building materials used in residential and commercial properties.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Comfortable working with structures impacted by fire, water, mold, or storm damage.
  • Team player with proven communication and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift heavy materials on a regular basis up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work in varying conditions, including exposure to water, smoke, or mold (with proper protective equipment).


Experience/Education

  • 5+ years’ experience in construction, remodeling, carpentry, required.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing, required.
  • Familiarity with mitigation processes for water, fire, and mold damage, preferred, or a willingness and aptitude to learn.
  • IICRC certifications and other additional internal or external trade certifications are preferred.
Salary Description
$26-$34 per hour
