What does a Contents Technician with Paul Davis do:
- Routinely use moving and industry equipment for packing, loading and transportation of homeowner's personal belongings and furniture
- Prepare contents for transportation using company supplies to provide protection against damages using company standards of care
- Routinely lift and move heavy items and boxes
- Responsible for proper use of company equipment and supplies. Work within the structure of check out/in of supplies to warehouse manager.
- Load trucks and warehouse vaults appropriately
- Carry boxes and load materials into trucks
- Dismantle furniture with company supplied tools
- Keep open communication with contents department team members
- Adhere to company policies and safety rules
- Perform work within the specified time frame per project manager’s estimate
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance at all times while utilizing company provided uniforms
- Ability to drive an arrangement of box trucks and vehicles dependent upon size of job
- Responsible for maintaining and inventorying personal effects of policy holder/homeowner
- Shows initiative to get all projects completed in a timely manner
- Serves others in our community in their time of need while exhibiting a willingness to learn and grow with the company.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on contents services, including but not limited to packing, wrapping, moving, and cleaning items.
- Respond to tasks assigned by Project Managers and Content Supervisors/Leads.
- Follow detailed directions and work closely with fellow Technicians to meet project deadlines.
- Set up workstations (assemble boxes, label materials, etc.).
- Assist in identifying, cleaning, and repacking salvageable contents.
- Load and unload equipment and materials from company vehicles.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of job sites, vehicles, and tools.
- Provide courteous and professional service to clients and team members.
- Properly document work through photos and daily job logs.
- Operate company vehicles safely and report any issues promptly.
- Participate in emergency response situations as needed.
- Complete special assignments and support other departments as required.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently lift up to 40 lbs; occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
- Stand, walk, kneel, crouch, push, and pull for extended periods.
- Climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform repetitive motions.
- Work in varying environmental conditions including extreme heat or cold.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and motor vehicles/heavy equipment.
- Stand on ladders and work on feet for up to 8+ hours per day.
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Pass a criminal background check and drug screen
- Own and can operate a smartphone
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have the ability to work nights/weekends and overtime, if needed
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
