Mitigation Technician

Compensation: $20–$27/hour | Up to $27/hour for Experienced Technicians

About the Role

We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Mitigation Technician to join our restoration team and respond to residential and commercial property damage caused by water, mold, fire, and other emergencies.

This is a hands-on field position involving water extraction, demolition, drying equipment, cleanup, and property protection. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates professionally with customers, and is comfortable working in fast-paced environments where every job is different.

Previous restoration experience is preferred but not required. Experienced mitigation technicians can earn up to $27/hour.

What You'll Do

• Respond to water, mold, fire, and other property-damage emergencies

• Extract standing water and remove damaged materials

• Set up, monitor, and remove air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, and drying equipment

• Perform controlled demolition, including removal of drywall, flooring, insulation, cabinets, and other affected materials

• Clean and treat damaged areas according to established procedures

• Assist with mold remediation and containment when properly trained

• Protect unaffected areas, furniture, and customer belongings during mitigation work

• Take photos, measurements, moisture readings, and detailed job notes

• Maintain clean and organized job sites, vehicles, tools, and equipment

• Communicate professionally with homeowners, businesses, and team members

• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements

• Assist with reconstruction and other restoration work when needed

What We're Looking For

• Dependable, hardworking, and comfortable with physically demanding work

• Previous experience in restoration, construction, demolition, cleaning, HVAC, plumbing, or a related trade is preferred

• Restoration and mitigation experience is highly valued

• IICRC certifications are preferred but not required

• Ability to lift and carry equipment and work while standing, climbing, kneeling, or bending

• Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, and other challenging environments

• Ability to work around water, dust, smoke, odors, mold, and damaged building materials while using appropriate PPE

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures

• Professional attitude and good customer-service skills

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

• Willingness to participate in emergency and on-call response, including some evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime

Compensation

$20–$27 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Experienced mitigation technicians with strong restoration knowledge, relevant certifications, and the ability to work independently may qualify for compensation at the top of the range.
