DESCRIPTION 

 

Servpro of Stamford, serving the Fairfield County (Norwalk, CT) area is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator. The Estimator is responsible for managing a wide range of

functions necessary to successfully obtain, bid and price mitigation projects. They are responsible for ensuring an accurate scope of work is created, delivering a consistent and complete estimate, and maintaining a high quality of service in all dealings with project managers, customers, and resource providers involved in mitigation services.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Meet with the project management team ensure an accurate scope of work project details.
  • Create an accurate sketch using Docusketch and Xactimate and initial scope of work for projects.
  • Create and deliver a well-defined repair estimate based on the Docusketch provided by the Project Managers.
  • Very proficient with Xactimate specific franchise software.
  • Proficient with Eagle View Roof Estimates.
  • Prepare budgets based on the estimates created.
  • Work with insurance adjusters.
  • Maintain written communication with customers, teammates, vendors, and insurance representatives.
  • Manage production expenses including equipment, vehicles, and other material assets.
  • Work with Project Mangers to deliver, thorough, complete and accurate final estimate to office for customer and insurance invoicing.
  • This is an in-office position but may occasionally be required to go to the field to conduct take-offs on larger scale jobs.

  • Other ad-hoc duties assigned and requested by management.

 

REQUIREMENTS, DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:

  • 3+ years previous restoration industry estimating and/or insurance adjusting experience.
  • 3+ years previous construction project estimating experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Effective written and oral communication.
  • Intermediate math skills.
  • 3+ years of experience and use of Xactimate estimating software or Symbility (CoreLogic) software (Servpro Software)
  • Proficient use of Docusketch, which provides you everything you need and more to accurately document, sketch, scope, and estimate projects.
  • Must have a driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Current IICRC certifications are preferred.

 

EDUCATION

  • Associates, BA in construction, engineering or similar relevant field preferred

Schedule:

•       40 Hours Per Week Shift Monday to Friday

•       Occasional Saturdays as required.



Overtime Requirement:

We are a 24/7 Emergency Services business. You will occasionally be expected to work nights and weekends to assist our customers in their time of need during storms, cold weather, and other natural or man-made emergency situations.



WORKING CONDITIONS

Environment: This position will be in-office and in the field environment; not eligible for hybrid or remote.



Please Note: Our office is a Pet Friendly Office, occasionally you will see a couple of dogs in our office!

Physical Demands:

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to travel from office location to job sites.  Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds may be required.
