Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced, self-motivated Project Manager/Estimator to oversee disaster restoration and reconstruction projects from initial estimate through completion. This role offers a healthy work/life balance, a supportive team environment, and a flexible work schedule. Approximately 40% of your time will be spent in the field and 60% in the office, with strong administrative support to ensure efficiency and project success.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed field inspections to determine project scope and requirements.
Prepare accurate estimates using Xactimate (XM8) or Symbility.
Communicate effectively with insurance adjusters and property owners to facilitate project progress.
Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure on-time and on-budget project delivery.
Manage change orders and maintain updated project documentation.
Oversee quality control measures to ensure work meets company and client standards.
Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain strong professional relationships.
Ensure projects adhere to approved budgets.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 3+ years in construction-related project management (preferably with a high-end home builder, small general contractor, or as a property claims field adjuster).
Project Types: Experience managing residential (70%) and light commercial (30%) projects ranging from $5,000 to $2 million.
Established network of local subcontractors and vendors.
Strong knowledge of construction cost control and project scheduling.
Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and schedules.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including innovative approaches to reconstruction.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Xactimate (XM8), Symbility, and DASH software.
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and smartphone applications.
Education & Certifications
Associate’s degree in a technical discipline or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Restoration industry certifications from IICRC are a plus.
Additional Requirements
Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
Ability to climb ladders and stairs as part of the inspection process.
