Position Summary
 
The New Business Development Manager is responsible for generating profitable sales growth by promoting and selling ServiceMaster Clean’s janitorial services within an assigned territory. This individual acts as both a hunter—identifying new business opportunities and implementing sales strategies to meet or exceed performance targets. This role plays a key part in expanding the company's market presence, particularly in target verticals, and in driving long-term customer satisfaction.
 
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute an annual territory sales plan with defined revenue goals and target accounts.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities across key and emerging vertical markets.
  • Conduct outbound cold calling, schedule sales presentations, and host client meetings to generate leads and close new accounts.
  • Actively participate in industry networking events, trade shows, and social engagements to promote brand visibility.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of ServiceMaster Clean’s janitorial offerings and stay up to date with industry trends and market competition.
  • Accurately log all client/prospect communications and follow-up activity using a CRM or structured recall system.
  • Prepare and submit timely quotes and proposals and maintain a closing rate of at least 25% for new recurring business.
  • Report market intelligence and performance metrics to the COO and contribute to strategic business planning.
  • Other duties as assigned or apparent.
Skills/Qualifications

Required
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and KPIs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM tools.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentation and negotiation abilities.
  • 3+ years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or account management, preferably in the service or janitorial industry.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in the cleaning, janitorial, or disaster restoration industry.
  • Familiarity with territory sales planning and lead generation strategies.
  • Active membership or participation in local networking/business associations.
 
Work Environment

This position is eligible for a hybrid work environment. The hybrid work environment includes in-office days in a professional setting with access to meeting rooms, workstations, and essential office equipment for collaboration and hands-on projects. Remote workdays require a dedicated home office with a stable internet connection, secure access to business tools, and virtual communication via platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams. 
 
Physical Demands
 
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and carry small parcels, packages and other items, to walk short distances, and sit for extended periods of time.

Additional Compensation:
This position includes commission-based earnings in addition to base pay. Commission amounts vary based on individual performance and are uncapped. Specific details about the commission structure will be shared during the interview process.
