Position Overview

We are seeking a Business Development and Client Relations Associate to join our team and help grow participation in our group purchasing organization (GPO). This role focuses on managing sales leads and on ensuring GPO members fully understand and utilize the programs most relevant to their business. The ideal candidate will have strong relationship-building skills, excellent organization, strong communication skills (oral & written) and a proactive approach to customer engagement.


Industry experience in construction or P&C insurance claims adjusting is beneficial but not required. Familiarity with HubSpot is a plus. The role requires a mix of sales, customer relationship management, and independent work, while also collaborating with the broader team to drive success.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Management & Follow-Up

  • Engage with sales leads handed off from marketing and senior sales representatives.
  • Identify customer needs and match them with relevant programs within the GPO.
  • Guide prospects through the sign-up process and ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Conduct follow-ups to encourage participation and address any hesitations.

Customer Relationship Building & Ongoing Engagement

  • Establish and maintain regular touchpoints with current and potential members.
  • Educate members on program benefits and ensure they maximize their cost-saving potential.
  • Keep detailed notes on customer interactions to personalize future engagement and strengthen relationships.

Administrative & Organizational Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in HubSpot to track participation, follow-ups, and customer interactions.
  • Ensure all data is recorded properly for reporting, trend analysis, and process improvement.
  • Prepare reports on member engagement trends, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Manage scheduling and follow-ups to ensure a seamless member experience.

Collaboration & Independent Work

  • Work both independently to manage leads and follow-ups, while also contributing as part of a collaborative team.
  • Coordinate with senior management and marketing to align outreach efforts.
  • Provide feedback on customer needs and market trends to improve program offerings and sales strategies.
  • Support team initiatives, meetings, and brainstorming sessions to drive overall success.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 1+ years of experience in sales, customer service, or account management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build long-term relationships.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management and follow-up skills.
  • Experience with HubSpot CRM (or other CRM platforms) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently while also thriving in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to educate and consult with customers rather than simply sell.
  • Industry knowledge in restoration, mitigation, or claims adjusting is a plus but not required.
  • A proactive and coachable mindset with a willingness to learn.
